The european internal arts journal
The european internal arts journal was launched in autumn 2004 with the aim of providing a high quality publication to meet the needs of the increasing number of serious internal artists throughout Europe.
The bi-lingual journal (English & French) is produced twice-yearly by a European team under the auspices of Helmut Oberlack and Ronnie Robinson, who have produced two of the most respected internal arts magazines in their countries; Taijiquan & Qigong Journal in Germany and Tai Chi Chuan & Internal Arts in the UK. These experiences, together with their involvement in internal arts in Europe, Helmut as Vice Chairman of the Taijiquan and Qigong Federation for Europe (TCFE) and Ronnie as Secretary of the TCFE, have placed them in a unique position to understand the interests of the European practitioner.
Over the past two years, we have worked hard to produce a quality magazine that represents that many approaches to the teaching and practice of Chinese Internal Arts in Europe. We have, in conjunction with a number of generous, hard-working people such our correspondents, translators and contributors, who have freely given their time and energy to support our venture, tried very hard to produce a journal of quality and distinction that would be of interest to serious practitioners.
Over the course of this year we have gathered a number of articles, interviews and reviews which we hoped to publish. However, on looking closely at the level of subscriptions and anticipated sales, adverts etc., we have come to the sad realisation that it is no longer financially possible for us to continue the journal in its printed format.
We do, however, strongly feel that we can still play a significant part in continuing to provide quality material to those serious practitioners interested in internal arts. We intend focussing our efforts into developing our website to regularly feature the nature of material that would have been included in the magazine. Over the next few weeks, we will be posting many of the articles that would have appeared in issue No 3.
